I began painting in watercolor over 15 years ago. It has been my favorite medium since I picked up a brush. Most of my early work included florals and gardenscapes, but later progressed into many stylized portraits and small studies of nature objects with decorative elements.
Since the arrival of my little girl, Nora, and a gift of a sewing machine from my mother, I've directed my creative focus to more practical projects like paper arts, quick pen drawings and simple stitched gifts. I've long had an obsession for vintage textiles, so lately I've been using my stash to create handbags, aprons, pincushions, and even a line of greeting cards using patterns scanned from my collection.
My mom and I have a studio in the loft of a barn at her home. We showcase our latest creations there and have a class on any whim that catches our fancy. Check it out at www.loftartstudio.com.
